Ribbon - Hong Kong Residential Amplification Proposal
eVolo Skyscraper Competition - Project Leader -

Tsim Sha Tsui is always mentioned to represent Hong Kong not only because of its symbolic skyline but also its early urban planing; starting from the 20’s, the bountiful and dense skyscrapers, though largely viewed as important historical heritage, on the other hand forms imprudent spatial arrangement.
Earlier apartments weren’t technically supported to elevate as high from the ground as later commercial buildings. However, as nowadays transportation has been greatly developed, it is in general feasible to propose much higher residential buildings.
Hypothetically, if something could be designed to stuff the empty yet expendable space upon existing lower buildings, it shall profoundly solve the shortage of popular metropolitan land.
